1:00pm - 2:00pm Maintaining Relevance in Today's Tumultuous Culture
It's the buzzword in this "Decade of the DMO." Called out in the 2008 DMAI Future Study, the concept of relevancy continues to challenge DMO pros across North America. But, according to industry author, blogger and consultant Bill Geist, the path to DMO relevancy is deceptively simple.

In this fast-paced general session, Bill will identify ways for today's DMO to bring true value to their destinations...and ways for DMO pros to become the community leaders they are meant to be. From CEOs and Sales Managers to Marketing Coordinators and the entire staff, there has never been more opportunity to leave a mark than there is today. Learn why...and how.

9:30am -10:30am Leadership Track: Designing New Performance Measures for DMOs
For the past few decades, the primary method of measuring DMO productivity has been the Room Night. While other measures have been employed sparingly and sporadically, it's always come back to Room Nights. DMAI's recent efforts at developing standardized Performance Measures has been a great step forward...but, as DMOs continue to evolve, new measures are critical if we are to retain relevancy.

In this interactive session, DMO author and expert Bill Geist shares his thoughts on new performance measures to drive home the value of Destination Marketing across all economic development disciplines. And, he'll ask you to share your new measures with your peers.
